Doddaballapur is now called by the government as cargo hub because it is well connected to all the towns Nelamangala, Dobbaspet Industrial Area, Yelahanka Satellite Town, Devanahalli, Nandi Hills, and Chikkaballapur with 360 feet highway. It has great potential for industrial and economic growth. Doddaballapur is situated, Bangalore towards North on Bangalore-Hindupur state highway (SH-9). The predominant occupation of the inhabitants in Doddaballapur is silk weaving, which is why the region houses large number of power looms for silk production turning it into an industrial zone. A logistic hub is sanctioned by the government, due to the proximity to the Kempegowda International airport. The industrial area including a huge apparel park and it has multiple national and international garments factories established -employs thousands of people in and around Doddaballapur including people from Gauribidanur, Nelamangala, Dobbaspet, Devanahalli, Chikkaballapur, Bangalore etc., travelling daily to the industrial area.
